Melanie Figg is a poet and essayist, currently working on a hybrid memoir. Her award-winning poetry collection, Trace, was named one of the "Best Indie Books of 2020" by Kirkus Reviews. She has won many awards for her writing, including a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and has work published or forthcoming in dozens of literary journals, including The Iowa Review, Nimrod, The Rumpus, and the American Journal of Poetry. Melanie teaches writing throughout the DC metro area, as well as privately. As a certified professional coach, she offers women’s writing retreats and works remotely with writers on their manuscripts as well as their creative process. www.melaniefigg.net

Andrew J. Calis is a Palestinian-American poet, teacher, husband, and father of four. His first book of poetry, Pilgrimages (Wipf & Stock, 2020), was praised by James Matthew Wilson for having “the intensity of Hopkins” and for “layer[ing] light on light in hopes of helping us to see.”  His work has been published in America, Dappled Things, St. Katherine Review, Presence, Convivium and elsewhere. He teaches at Archbishop Spalding High School in Maryland.
