After Louis Armstrong’s bands, The Dukes of Dixieland was perhaps, the most widely admired jazz band. The band was a New Orleans Assunto family creation. But tragedy struck twice along with a lawsuit over rights to the band’s name. You’ll hear the details of the story from Dean Assunto, the son of one of the band’s originators on the next Zoom Jazz Talk (free) sponsored by the Potomac River Jazz Club that has been bringing jazz and jazz education to fans since 1971.  More information is in the attached flyer.
