WHY CONGO SQUARE MATTERS TO JAZZ: 

 

Before it was re-named Louis Armstrong Park, it was known as Congo Square where slaves gathered every Sunday to relax and refresh.   A small patch next to New Orleans French Quarter that was highly important to the development of jazz.  Hear all the fascinating history from scholar and author Freddi Evans on the next Zoom Jazz Class, MONDAY, DECEMBER 4th at 7:00 PM EASTERN TIME.   It’s free but donations to support the monthly Zoom talks are appreciated.
