Get ready for a best of the ’70s sing-along at AMP! Known for paying tribute to rock’s biggest bands, Newmyer Flyer brings together DC’s finest musicians to recreate Van Morrison’s Moondance and Bruce Springsteen’s The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle—two seminal albums of the 1970s. Considered a musical invention, Moondance contains some of Morrison’s best-loved songs including “Crazy Love,” “Caravan,” and “Into the Mystic.” The powerhouse tracks of “Rosalita,” “Kitty’s Back,” and “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy),” take you back to summer on the shore. Fall crazy in love all over again with these musical icons and the albums that put them on the map.
This special evening includes performances by Eric Scott, Brian Simms, Billy Coulter, Tony Denikos, Kirk Philips, Greg Hardin, Margot MacDonald, Deeme Katson, Chuck Underwood, Bill Starks, John Hurd, Helen Hausmann, Scott Giambusso, Ronnie Smith, John Zidar, Trevor Specht, Wayne Sulc, Zack Smith, and Tom Fridrich.
