The National Alliance on Mental Illness, known locally as NAMI Montgomery County, is hosting our annual NAMIWalks Your Way event on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at RIO Lakefront in Gaithersburg, Maryland. NAMIWalks Your Way Montgomery County brings an active display of support for those impacted by mental illness. There will be media and community exposure for the Walk and great opportunities for all to get involved. During our previous in-person Walk (prior to the pandemic), over 400 people came out to support us on Walk Day. This year, we anticipate hundreds will join us again as we return to an in-person format! 

NAMIWalks Montgomery County’s goals:

• Raise funds to continue NAMI’s recovery-focused support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by mental illness at no cost to those who need our programs most.
• Increase awareness of mental illness and local support by reaching people through team building, promotions, and media activity.
• Decrease stigma by giving people a positive reason to talk openly about mental illness.
