Black Girl Magic Stories

Black Girl Magic Stories presents a Juneteenth Celebration of Black culture, heritage, and excellence. This hybrid event will include live musical performances, spoken word poetry, Black-Owned Businesses and Artists, a “Pink Table Talk,” roundtable discussion on health inequality, empowered womanhood, and the fight for justice, and more!

A reception featuring sweet treats from Gourmet Delights by Diane and a flight of three handcrafted cocktails from Bitter Feminist  will be included for all in-person attendees.

This event is open to all, and all are welcome to celebrate cultural heritage and black girl magic with us! Sign up or sponsor a ticket today for a community member in need. Free and sliding scale tickets are available for community members in need. Contact for free and sliding scale tickets.

A message from the show’s creator, Phillip Alexander Downie: I had the most amazing tribe of Black women raise me, from my mother and sisters to my grandmother and aunts! Growing up, I never saw anyone like them on TV who wasn’t an overly-exaggerated caricature version of Black women. BGMS is dedicated to all of the amazing Black women in my life who raised me, who inspire me, who are the backbone of our society, and who constantly uplift our communities, asking for nothing in return! I love you, Black women!
