The D.C. South Asian Film Festival, in partnership with Montgomery College, invites you to its eighth annual film festival highlighting innovative films from the subcontinent. The festival will be held Friday September 20th to Sunday September 22nd at the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Theater (51 Mannakee Street, Rockville, Maryland 20850).
The opening night red-carpet gala will feature Kaifinama, an exploration of the life and art of progressive poet Kafi Azmi, and includes post-film discussion with director Sumantra Ghosal and award-winning actress Shabana Azmi. The festival continues with a robust line-up of films and documentaries on Saturday and Sunday. Closing ceremonies feature a screening of The Last Color with director and chef Vikas Khanna, food tasting, dance performance, awards and more.
