Savor your favorite fall treats as you learn the history and science behind nature’s golden gift: honey!  From reviving old drink-making traditions (honey wine) to sweet scones and breads for dipping in honey to surprising new twists in savory dishes, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Guided by food historian Christine Rai, discover honey’s rich history, the magic of honeybees, and the secrets to seasonal pairings.

Attendees will sample many different treats that illustrate how local food artisans are using honey today.

Christine Rai is a college professor with a passion for food studies and experiential learning. An educator for over 20 years, teaching is a key part of Christine’s identity. Outside of the classroom, she has led talks and workshops with the Smithsonian Associates, Frederick Community College, and Heritage Montgomery, among many others. Christine loves learning outside of the classroom, especially in her kitchen, garden, and through her travels.

This program was created in partnership with Olney Farmers and Artists Market and will be held at Olney Farmers and Artists Market, located at 2801 Olney-Sandy Spring, Rd.
